June 27-July 12: Fresh from the grand opening of its 44,000 square-foot expansion, the OC Discovery Cube is holding its 3rd Annual Inventors Week event! Junior inventors are invited to two weeks of tinkering, building, and exploring while learning about electronic and robotic principles that every inventor and engineer should know. Sunday, June 28, 4pm: Volunteer guides from the Orange Community Historical Society invite visitors to take a Historical Walking Tour of the Plaza District and surrounding areas of Orange. Learn about Orange’s founding and the significance of some of its early homes, businesses, development, and downtown buildings. Tours run from 90-120 minutes and reservations are required. Come join The Potting Shed as they share the exciting changes that are coming up for Orange Home Grown, as the organization grows to accommodate the needs of our community. Friday, July 3: The City of Orange 3rd of July Celebration has been a beloved community event with live music, children’s activities, community food booths, and a hometown carnival atmosphere. This year you can look forward to an old-fashioned petting zoo and pony rides. Sunset brings our grand finale performance by the Orange Community Master Chorale and patriotic fireworks salute to America. Tickets are $7- children two years old and under are free- and can be purchased at the Community Services Department, 230 East Chapman Avenue (corner of Grand Street) through 5:30 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2015.
